More of the Chihuly spheres floating on a pond at the Garden. The lily pads here are a type that can grow to more than four feet in diameter. However, these are no more than two feet wide.
A sign found several places around the Garden. Three hurricanes in one summer, that's a lot! I guess a lot of stuff got blown away, but what remains is beautiful.
This was in one of the greenhouses at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Looked to me to be about 10 ft. tall. Hard to tell without some size reference, but it was big.
Most palm trees grow straight up and have fronds on the top. This variety splits part-way up the trunk and has several sets of fronds. These must be some sort of evolutionary ancestor of modern trees.
